Coach Landon

Jake Landon

Jake Landon enters his 4th season as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Arizona Christian University, where he has quickly established the Firestorm as a rising program in the MCLA. In just the third year of competition, Landon led ACU to its first playoff appearance and was named the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference Division II Coach of the Year in 2025.

The 2025 season marked another milestone year for ACU. The Firestorm finished 7–5, ranked 3rd in the SLC, went undefeated at home, and earned signature wins over LMU, USD, and NAU. Over the past two years, nine Firestorm players have been named MCLA Division II Scholar Athletes, with five athletes recognized on the All-Conference Team in 2025.

Since being hired in November 2021 to launch ACU’s inaugural lacrosse program, Landon has built a culture defined by love, integrity, faithfulness, and excellence. He emphasizes both player development and personal growth, fostering an environment where student-athletes are challenged to reach their collective potential while enjoying the game of lacrosse. Under his leadership, ACU posted a winning record in its inaugural 2023 season—the first program in school history to achieve that milestone in year one—and earned full membership in the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference.

Prior to ACU, Landon gained experience across multiple levels of the sport. He partnered with Arizona Lacrosse Academy to pilot youth clinics in Phoenix, coached club lacrosse with Team 48, and mentored adolescents through the ministry of Young Life. In 2014, he founded Beach Boys Lacrosse Club in Southern California, a grassroots program that provided athletes the chance to play for the love of the game while minimizing the pressures of recruiting and high pay-to-play costs.

As a player, Landon was a three-year varsity starter at Poway High School in San Diego, where he helped the Titans secure three straight Palomar League titles and back-to-back CIF Open Division Championships in 2015 and 2016. He went on to study Youth Ministry at Grand Canyon University and was part of the lacrosse program before choosing to focus on academics and youth ministry.

Beyond lacrosse, Landon is pursuing his master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration while continuing to invest in his family and community. He and his wife, Darby, live in Central Phoenix with their daughters, Holland and Pippa. His hobbies include pickleball, camping, ultimate frisbee, and exploring the outdoors.
