Coach Landon

Jake Landon

Jake Landon enters his second year as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Arizona Christian. Landon is committed to developing a competitive, Christ-centered lacrosse culture that challenges and equips student-athletes to live out the fullness of their individual and collective potential.

He joined the Firestorm in November 2021, tasked with recruiting the first class of student-athletes and launching the lacrosse program. Landon helped lead the Firestorm to a 4-2 record in their inaugural 2023 season, the first program in school history to host a winning record in the first year of competition. Under his leadership, ACU was granted full membership within the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference to compete in the MCLA at total capacity in 2024.

Prior to ACU, Landon coached and worked with various sports and youth organizations. He partnered with Arizona Lacrosse Academy to pilot youth clinics in North Central Phoenix, coached club lacrosse with Team 48, and mentored adolescents through the campus ministry Young Life. In 2014 Landon founded Beach Boys Lacrosse Club out of Southern California. Beach Boys provided a local option giving players the opportunity to compete for the love of the game, away from the stressors of recruiting and high cost-to-play fees.

As a player, Landon was a 3-year varsity starter at Poway High School, helping the Titans secure 3-straight Palomar League titles and back-to-back CIF Open Division Championships in 2015 and 2016. Landon came to Arizona to study and play lacrosse at Grand Canyon University but opted to focus on his studies and youth ministry, departing the GCU program prior to the Lopes’ national championship in 2017.

In addition to lacrosse, Coach Landon, his wife Darby, and their daughter Holland live in Central Phoenix and attend Open Door Fellowship Church. His hobbies include playing ultimate frisbee, backpacking, rock climbing, & media production.
